Importance of CQI-12 assessment
This document specifies process requirements for an organization or its suppliers performing functional coating, who need to demonstrate the ability to consistently provide a product that meets customer and applicable regulatory requirements and enhance customer satisfaction through the practical application of the system, including processes for continual improvement of the system.
The Coating System Assessment applies to sites where customer-specified parts for production and service are processed throughout the automotive supply chain.
CQI-12 appendix to IATF16949 under “customer-specific requirements” is valid for all automotive suppliers globally that have entered into a contractual agreement regarding purchasing, supply, and quality throughout the supply chain.
